Remembrance of Times Past

With the release of Tailz new kit "Remembrance of Times Past" (see below) I thought it might be fitting to run a challenge of the same name, but theres a twist (isnt there always with me)

scrapbook an event from one of the following decades (this can be a personal event or an historical event)

1130 - 1140

1230 - 1240

1560 - 1570

1645 - 1655

1790 - 1800

1870 - 1880

layout must include at least one image and journalling
upload your layout to the challenge gallery then link it back here
and of course there will be a posting bonus from Lesley at Nutkintailz Designs (back later with that)

heres the kit
and heres mine

The bit in red had me in fits of laughter - I don't think any of us will have any personal events between 1130 and 1880

Are those dates right - because if they are everything will be historical, even if it is something of our ancestors.

LOL karen thats what I meant, a personal event would be say a wedding photo of an ancestor (which maybe didnt make the history books) as opposed to an historical event like say the sinking of the Batavia off the west coast of australia

Thanks for clearing it up for me. I purchased the kit and will have a look and see what I can find.

Can I also clarify that its not a requirement to use that kit for this challenge (although I'm sure Lesley will thrilled if you do)

the earliest photo / date I have is 1898 ... wah, I can't play!
I couldn't even use my SCA personna, it's too *early* (I died at the Battle of Hastings in 1066) {giggle}

Hi Liz, dont let any of that deter you, there are plenty of photos, paintings, and drawings (hence my use of the word "image" rather than photo) on the internet relating to our history .. I dont know my american history dates real well, but Gettysburg, the civil war, colonisation etc all come to mind

all of which are irrelevant to me, since I'm not American {bwahahahahaha}.
So I should pick a world-history-event that may or may not have affected my family?!?!

{edit} never mind, I found an almost-perfect image from 1870 ... wait for it!!!
